Project Proposal Rubric (50 Points)

	Unacceptable	Developing	Competent	Exemplary
Defining the Project- 10 points Describes the project chosen	Did not submit a proposal	The project chosen is not described well or described only minimally. It is hard to get a sense of the direction the student is taking.	The project chosen is fairly well described although there may be details missing in regards to what the project is all about.	The project chosen is explained fully and it is easy for the reader to get a sense of what the student wishes to accomplish in the semester.
Rationalizing Choices - 10 points Describes why the project was chosen	Did not submit a proposal	There are few, if any, rationales given as to why the student chose the project he/she did.	There are some rationales given as to why the student chose the project he/she did, but they may be incomplete or contain few useful details.	The rationales given as to why the student chose the project he/she did are strong and well-articulated.
Personal Goals - 10 points Describes personal learning goals for the semester	Did not submit a proposal	There are few, if any, personal goals related to learning more about the instructional design process or learning from the client/subject chosen for the semester.	There are some personal goals articulated related to learning more about the instructional design process or learning from the client/subject chosen for the semester. The goals expressed may not be complete or may be missing key details.	The personal goals related to learning more about the instructional design process or learning from the client/subject chosen for the semester are well-articulated and quite clear.
Team and Logistical Considerations - 10 points Describes any logistical considerations related to other classmates on the same team, or other functional concerns regarding project procedures and completion	Did not submit a proposal	There are few, if any, considerations articulated regarding any team or logistical issues.	There are some considerations articulated regarding any team or logistical issues, but they are not expressed in great detail.	The considerations given regarding any team or logistical issues are clear and fully detailed as appropriate.
Grammar and Style - 10 points Describes the overall quality of the proposal's writing	Did not submit a proposal OR there are too many errors in grammar, spelling and style to be readable	There are numerous major errors (more than 5) related to spelling, grammar, and writing style.	There are no more than 3-4 major errors related to spelling, grammar, and writing style. There may be two to four minor errors found.	There are few, if any major errors in writing style, grammar, or spelling. There may be one or two minor errors found.
